Senior Season is open.
I had the privilege to work with two High School seniors this week. Rebecca started her session at an old train station. Where we spent time around an old train car and her Escape. 
Then we traveled out to the old family farm 
and got this great photo on a swing. Devan is a Tri-Athelete, playing Football, Baseball, and Basketball. 
His session was in town and we had great weather. 
His next session will be with his sports uniforms.Big Family Wedding
The wedding this past weekend was huge. Not only were there many attendants in the wedding party, but the family and friends that came to the ceremony filled the church.
Cristy & Jason have a lot of people that care about them based on that. 
The Brides family almost did not fit on the church steps.
There was a great deal of care an planning put into this wedding.

The bridesmaids looked beautiful in their dresses and complemented the Brides wedding dress. 
After the short rain storm passed over the sun came back out and brought nice light through the church windows. 
After the ceremony all the guests filled the fellowship hall and celebrated the couples marriage.

WestMoreland Wedding
Christy and Andrew's held their wedding at their church in a small community called Brasstown, NC on May the 17th. 
Brasstown is known for the John C Campbell Folk School. 
Their church has a beauiful sanctuary with a sky light that lit the ceremony perfectly.I had a great time using the 
great light the church had. Like these two. I captured so 
many great shots that it was hard to pick out these few for my blog.

Getting back to business.
The wedding season is in full swing. I have booked a wedding to photograph every weekend in June. I also worked with three wonderful couples in May. The best thing about this season is the people that I have worked with during these occasions.
Shannon & Grant's wedding in Smyrna, GA was held at the Log Cabin Church. It was a fantastic location for a wedding. I am looking forward to creating their wedding book. The next several photos are from their wedding.
Christy & Andrew's wedding reminded me of why I love shooting weddings.

The love and kindness these two share really came to life through their pictures. I am honored to have captured those moments for them.Chrystal and Mark's wedding on a mountain top in Helen, GA almost did not go as planned. It was to be an out door wedding and mixed weather reports kept coming in.
Just as Crystal stepped out of the manor to walk the isle, fat drops of rain started falling and then moments later they stopped. Kind of scary, but thats what makes it exciting. The rest of the day went off with out a hitch.

Into the new year.
It is a little bit into the new year and I am looking back at last year. Last year was my first year solely relying on my photography business to support my family and I. It is safe to say that running a business is challenging, particularly one that sells a luxury item like portraits. I did a fair job considering I photographed 18 weddings, 70+ portraits, 100+ sports teams and 6 schools. This year I am going to spend more of my time into producing high end portraits and elegant wedding photography.
Why? Well I love working with folks on producing timeless images and capturing the joy of a wedding day. I look for the personal experiences, the memories. So I will be scaling back on sports photos this year and concentrating on this field of photography.
2007's weddings were all memorable. Lauren & Zach's show of love in their cute country church. Haley & Daniel's version of Johnny and Baby's dance in Dirty Dancing. The A/C quitting at Kim & Mike's late June wedding. The show of emotions at Mallory & Dillon's wedding. The grooms excitement at the wedding of Whitley & Andrew. The lively reception at the wedding of Shannon & Dell. It was a joy to be involved in these special events and I hope 2008 is just as exciting.
The portrait sessions that I was honored to photograph include the Beck family, who were on vacation here from places like S. Dakota and Ohio. Photographing the Chastain's all around the Toccoa river producing awesome images. Little Landon with his animate personality was nonstop photographic action.
2007 marked my venture into serious Senior Portraiture. Wow, what a great time I've had with that. High school seniors are so volatile and colorful. Imagine kids on the cusp of adulthood, still working out who they are, full of attitude, dreams, emotions, life. Now set them in front of a lens and let them loose. One example is Courtney, she started out as needing direction but turned it into a model shoot. Every time Audrey changed an outfit her personality changed with it! She was so into the shoot we could have photographed for hours. Her mother later commented on the images saying," They were phenomenal.".
Well, I want to thank all who allowed me to photograph them and letting me express the enjoyment that photography gives me, and I hope for an even better year ahead.
